They chopped it down Then thought it was over The tree is gone No place to call a home Take the wood into the fire Let it burn to ashes We will never hear of it again In this I wept Who will save the soul The soul left to rot on the wood The chopped wood In a trance, Like a flash I saw the curtain tear in half A mighty wind was here But how will everything become one piece? Suddenly, From the ashes, The roots stretched From the earth, it rose The great tree of steel never to die anymore 3 days was all it took They never expected this Once a rejected wood now the choicest furniture My Jesus hung on the tree Has risen to set me free Freeborn, new born.
